Dr. Mark Provenzano ~
Mark Provenzano, M.D., is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic sports medicine injuries, chronic athletic conditions, and injuries to the knee and shoulder. A native Houstonian, Dr. Provenzano received his B.A. from Rice University, where he graduated summa cum laude, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, while working as an operating room technician. His Orthopedic Surgery residency was also completed at Baylor, where he received the Harrington Award for Excellence in Orthopedic Surgery during his final year. In addition to his medical background, Dr. Provenzano has performed research in the biomechanics of sports techniques, as well as psychological aspects of injuries and healing in the competitive athlete. Mark Provenzano is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of several medical societies at both the local and national level. |
